Santa Claus Visits Oliver
Oliver students were treated to a visit from our friend from the North Pole. Santa came through the halls to visit with the children as everyone sang Christmas carols. Thanks Santa for stopping by!
Alice in Operaland comes to Oliver
A group from Young Audiences consisting of students and professors from Hardin Simmons, McMurry, and ACU came to Oliver to perform Alice in Operaland. Students loved the different types of singing and acting that went on. Thank you to Victoria Spangler for coordinating the Young Audiences presentation. Also, thank you to PTO who paid for the presentation.
Oliver Students Participate in the Science Fair!
Students at Oliver participated in the annual Science Fair on October 27, 2005. The students had many different projects and were able to practice the scientific process. A big thank you goes to the 20 judges from our community who volunteered their time to help us. The overall winner in the Kindergarten through 2nd grade division was Mrs. Wendeborn's class. In the 3rd grade through 5th grade division, the overall winner was a group of students from Mrs. Corzine's class. All the students did a fantastic job.
Oliver Science Fair
The 2nd annual Oliver Elementary Science Fair took place on October 27 in the library. Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade participated in the event. The winners from each grade level were:

The overall winner in the Kindergarten through 2nd grade was Mrs. Wendeborn's class. The overall winner in the 3rd grade through 5th grade division was Mrs. Corzine's class.

A great job was done by all the students and teachers. A special thanks goes to the judges for taking time out of their busy schedules to come help the students at Oliver.
Veteran's Day at Oliver
Students at Oliver Elementary participated in a Veterans' Day ceremony in front of the school. Veterans from Stamford, along with city council representatives, school board representatives, and others joined in the ceremony. The Dyess Honor Guard joined demonstrated to the students the flag fold along with other military procedures. The veterans were thanked personally by the fifth grade class and were given some tokens of appreciation from Mrs. Teichelman's first grade class. During the ceremony an explanation was given for each of the twelve folds of the flag. A big thank you goes to our guests along with Paul Wright for bringing some high school students over to play the national anthem.
Fantastic Friday @ Oliver!
Fantastic Friday was October 28. Students enjoyed a great day eating with their parents. Students were also treated to a sock hop. The High School football players, cheerleaders, twirlers, flags, and band came over and treated the Oliver students to a pep rally. A big thanks goes to our Oliver PTO for coordinating this.

Elvis (also known as Tony Nauert) came to visit the students at Fantastic Friday at Oliver. Elvis showed he still has a few moves. We appreciate Elvis spending a little time with us and moving those blue suede shoes!
Diez y Seis
Father Miguel Hidalgo (also known as High School Spanish Teacher, Kelly Martin), came to visit students at Oliver Elementary in honor of Diez y Seis. Students learned the history of Diez y Seis and the role that the Indians and Spanish played in Mexico's independence. Thank you to Father Hidalgo for ringing your bell and teaching us all a great lesson of history!
Oliver Career Day
On Monday, May 23rd, students from Oliver enjoyed a career day organized by our counselor Mrs. Mueller. Students were able to listen do a District Attorney, Deejay, Police Officers, Coach/Athletic Trainer, and a Youth Minister. The students asked wonderful questions and gained much information from the day.
